Upgrades
Over time PCs tend to seem slower as software applications become more demanding of system resources. In the 1980's a PC would commonly have had 16MB (megabytes) of RAM (random accesss memory). Now-a-days 16GB (gigabytes) or more of RAM is common - that's at least a 1000 fold increase. Clearly software written now, will not work on a 1980's PC.
30 - 40 years is a long time in any man's life but for a computer four decades past is ancient history! Even computers built as recently as 2010 will have trouble running today's more demanding software applications. Hence the need for upgrading!
In the ever changing world of technology and computing there are constant developments, new products and components to consider - this does not mean that your PC is out-dated though! A simple upgrade can be a quick and cost effective way of giving your PC a new lease of life.
